Eadga Gebyrtd-tid to my Mentor!!!!
Hello! Today, I’m just popping in to wish a very happy belated birthday to one of the most important people in my life, who has guided me in my study of Old English from the very beginning. She believed in me unwaveringly from the beginning, and her patience and enthusiasm supported me through every win and every struggle. She showed me the magic and excitement in the language. When another teacher might have made this study a drudgery, she approached it with creativity and passion that made it irresistible. Our weekly zoom calls are a highlight of my week and have been since we met three years ago. I would never have even imagined I could be where I am today if it wasn’t for her.
So Emily, have the happiest birthday!!! Or should I say, eadga gebyrd-tid to þe!
Happy birthday to you!
Eadga gebyrd-tid to þe!
Happy birthday to you!
Eadga gebyrd-tid to þe!
Happy birthday dear Emily,
Eadga gebyrd-tid dyre Emily,
Happy birthday to you!
Eadga gebyrd-tid to þe!
